Kazerne Dossin: Memorial, Museum and Documentation Centre on Holocaust and Human rights

Concept Note

Herman Van Goethem (Université d’Anvers)
Curator

The new Museum will treat the subject of the Holocaust from a Belgian perspective. As a ‘site of remembrance’, the Kazerne Dossin (the Dossin Barracks) stands as the monumental witness to, and embodiment of, a Belgian war story. We wish to emphasize here that the persecution of the Jews in Belgium during the years 1940-1944 is to be regarded not only as a German, but likewise as a Belgian crime.

The concept note is available in Dutch or French.
